Reasons to use Unit2

We know what you’re thinking. I’ve got my own set up at home and so I don’t need a recording studio. That may well be true but if you’re unsatisfied with the results and want to take your recordings to the next level we can help. Let me give you a few examples

1. Why not add real drums to your recordings

Unit 2 Studios is very popular with drummers for its excellent drum sound. And is repeatedly used by drummers such as Paul Cook (Sex Pistols). Dave Barbarossa (Adam and the Ants, Bow Wow Wow), Tom Meadows (Kylie Minogue, Girls Aloud, Duffy etc).

When we recorded the drums for the Fun Lovin Criminals album Classic Fantastic they likened the drum sound to the one they used to get in the Hit Factory in New York but for a lot less money.

2. Turn the amp up loud and have fun

Use our comprehensive selection of vintage guitar and bass amps to add an individual tone to your guitar tracks. The jewel in the crown being our recently refurbished (back to original spec) 1959-60 Vox AC30.

Re-Amp

You could even save yourself time and money by recording the clean guitar DI signal at home then importing that audio file into our studio set up before sending it to your chose of amp via our reamp box.

3. Do your vocals justice

Capture your vocals with our highly prized studio classics like our Neumann U87 microphone, Neve or SSl mic pre’s and Empirical Labs Distressors.

A combination that has been used on thousands of hit records.

4. Mixing

Whether it’s something you recorded at home, or in another Studio, we can mix it for you. At Unit 2 Studios we have an extensive track record of mixing songs for Major & Independent artists.

.

You can choose to mix in the box using our extensive list of plug ins or send 24 channels of audio to our Amek Angela and give it that extra bit of sparkle with our outboard reverbs like our 1970’s EMT stereo plate reverb and state of the art Bricasti M7.

Mixes can be attended or you can leave us to it. In which case we will send you a first mix. Then you can listen to it in familiar surroundings and ask for changes. 1st and 2nd amendments are free.
